Job summary

Dashiell is seeking a Project Manager to oversee turnkey construction projects focused on high‑voltage substations, transmission lines, and distribution lines. You will lead planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, 10 years in design/construction/operations of substations or transmission lines, and strong budget and team‑leadership experience; travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering is required.
  • 10 years of design, construction, or operations experience in substations and/or transmission lines are required.
  • 10 years of supervision/management of budgets and work groups is strongly preferred.
  • Willing to travel to project sites as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the cost, schedule, safety, quality and completion of construction projects.
  • Coordinate work with Purchasing to ensure materials are expedited and received as needed.
  • Manage multiple project teams.
  • Prepare and maintain cash flows, monthly billing, and change orders.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly construction progress reports and re-projections.
  • Resolve inter-group conflicts to meet project construction goals.
  • Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects.

Job Title: Project Manager
Job Location: 1750 West 11400 South STE 130
Primary Function

Responsible for the development, planning, execution, and monitoring of projects focused on the turnkey construction of high voltage electrical substations, transmission lines and distribution lines.

Duties & Responsibilities

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

  • Accountable for the cost, schedule, safety, quality and completion of construction projects
  • Coordinate work with Purchasing to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of a project.
  • Manage multiple project teams.
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of cash flows, monthly billing, preparing and obtaining change orders for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of monthly construction progress reports, re-projections, files, etc, required for the construction of a project.
  • Resolve inter-group conflicts, project conflicts and delays as required to meet project construction goals.
  • Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments.
  • Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent is required. Professional Registration is preferred. 10 years experience in the design, construction, or operations of substations and/or transmission lines is required. 10 years of experience in the supervision/management of budgets and work groups is strongly preferred.

Possess skills in the following areas:

  • Demonstrated understanding of substations, substation control and transmission systems.
  • Understand financial aspects of project control.
  • Interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, organizational ability and leadership talent.
  • Experience with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Working in a team environment.
  • Communicating effectively with co-workers.
  • Willing to travel to project sites as necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • This position requires minimal physical effort.
  • Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year around weather conditions and noise.
  • Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
  • Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
