Slayden Constructors Inc. (SCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors, Inc., is seeking experienced Project Managers to support and lead critical water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects for municipal and industrial clients based out of Salem, OR. Projects may include integrated project delivery methods such as CM-at-Risk or Design-Build, or traditional Design-Bid-Build, ranging from $20 million to $200 million.

Essential Functions
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and A/E contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through on-site managers and superintendents to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget; investigate serious issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and assist in labor negotiations and strategy meetings.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interests while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the project team to complete the Management Administration Plan before fieldwork begins.
  • Ensure safety practices are followed by all employees and promote a safe work environment.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to project engineers and superintendents.
  • Procure subcontractors and materials through purchase agreements and subcontracts.
  • Support change management, cost estimating, revenue and cost forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Operations Director.
Basic Qualifications
  • 4-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management on heavy civil or industrial projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience on water or wastewater plant projects.
  • Ability to apply innovative management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business orientation with proven judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA safety training.
  • Specialized experience with water/wastewater treatment projects.
