Job summary

Vanir Construction Management, Inc. is seeking a Healthcare Construction Project Manager in California to lead planning, coordination, and direction of PM activities, ensuring alignment with owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule.

The role may supervise office/field staff and requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or Architecture, with 5+ years of healthcare PM experience and CA hospital exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture is required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the Healthcare Sector is required.
• HCAi-1 CA hospital experience required, preferably with a background in architectural interiors and exterior envelope.
• Knowledge of project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, and scheduling is required.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and project-related systems.

Responsibilities

• Primary liaison for owner and partner entities for contract, design, systems and related deliverables.
• Develops project procedures and documentation, and may consult with Owner on design and contracts and related A/E systems.
• Functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals among owner, architects, engineers and related parties.
• Represents owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings.
• Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and project closeout.
• Leads in project meetings to document and track statuses.
• May coordinate, direct, and monitor construction management staff, contractors, and related entities.
• Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Description

The Healthcare Construction Project Manager provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule. May supervise office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, and other assigned staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Represents owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings
• Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeout
• Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
• May coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities
• Manages bid phase services, as may be required by the client
• Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the Healthcare Sector is required
• HCAi-1 CA hospital experience required, preferably with a background in architectural interiors and exterior envelope
• Knowledge and application ofproject development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are required
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related systems are required
• Proficiency with various document control systems, as well as new construction and modernizationis preferred
• Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred
• Certified Construction Manager preferred
