You will establish schedules, budgets, and technical requirements, and coordinate with engineers, management, and consultants. Strong communication, problem solving, and leadership are essential to drive successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or program administration.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

General Purpose:

Responsible for managing projects of medium complexity in order to meet performance indicators (cost, delivery, quality, etc.) of a specific organization.

What a Typical Day looks like:
  • Establish project schedule, financial parameters, and technical requirements, managing project from initiation through transfer.
  • Communicate customer requirements, specifications, project schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management, and consultants.
  • Review daily production schedule and identify problem areas.
  • Assess causes of problems and provide technical support and direction to project team to resolve issues.
  • Develop status reports, including project financials, ensuring project team is meeting customer requirements and measuring cost control.
  • Maintain project plan documents, procedures, and project deliverables.
  • Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  • Assist in the management of larger projects/programs.
  • Provide advice to lower-level Project/Product Managers to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
  • Recommend changes to policies which may affect subordinate organization(s).
  • Interact frequently with customers and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and professionals.
The Experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in materials, sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and/or program administration or related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates advanced skills in functional/technical area.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Impacts the immediate to medium term direction and operational success of the function.
  • Executes and provides input to functional plans and objectives for the site.
  • Provides input to functional processes or technologies. Has experience in leading initiatives and provides input to those initiatives.
  • May have P&L responsibility for sections/sub-functions.
  • Receives general instructions on new assignments. Requires little to no supervision.
Scope / Impact

Impacts the immediate (daily or weekly) operational success of the function. Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies. Assist in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area. Carries out functional initiatives.

Decision Making / Discretion

Facilitates team in making group decisions. Approves and/or Makes decisions for sections/sub-functions. Decisions may affect sections/sub-functions

Supervision / Leadership

Closely supervised; normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Identifies own development needs and works toward them. Supports Flex values.

Work Environment:

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
