We are hiring a Project Manager to lead complex, high-voltage substation and grid integration projects that support the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Based in Raleigh, NC, this role owns end-to-end delivery of turnkey EPC programs from early planning through execution, commissioning, and phased energization. You will partner closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to deliver safe, on-schedule, on-budget outcomes for utility and industrial customers across North America.
What you will do
- Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution for substation and grid integration programs
- Define scope, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria aligned to customer expectations
- Manage budget, forecasting, cash flow, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and energization activities across internal teams and subcontractors
- Track performance using earned value management (EVM) and other project controls tools; drive corrective actions when needed
- Support contract administration, change management, and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Provide clear, timely project reporting and stakeholder communications to customers, leadership, and delivery partners
- Contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery processes and lessons learned
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of project management experience delivering complex programs
- Experience leading large-scale EPC or EPCM projects (preferably substation, transmission/distribution, grid, power, or heavy industrial)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple scopes, subcontractors, and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Strong capability in schedule control, cost management, and customer/stakeholder alignment
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred qualifications
- Utility substation, grid modernization, or renewables interconnection experience
- Experience with commissioning and energization planning in live-grid environments
- Working knowledge of project controls and EVM; familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Background with Tier-1 EPC contractors and/or owner’s engineer organizations
- Strong contract/change order experience and risk management skills
