Job summary

TechServ is seeking a seasoned Remote Project Manager with a background in electric utility distribution design to lead our Distribution Design projects. You will oversee initiation through completion, manage schedules, budgets, quality, and deliverables, and mentor coordinators and designers to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of PM experience in utilities, strong data analytics, Excel proficiency, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in the electric utility industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and ability to convey technical info to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills.
  • Budgeting and cost management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel for tracking and data handling.

Remote Project Manager – Utility Distribution Design

Position Overview

TechServ is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background in electric utility distribution design to lead projects for our Distribution Design team. This position is responsible for managing utility design projects from initiation through completion while ensuring projects meet client requirements, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing electric utility distribution design projects and working with designers, project coordinators, engineers, utility clients, and other project stakeholders. This individual should understand the utility design process and be comfortable managing project schedules, design deliverables, resources, budgets, productivity, quality, and client expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organized professional who enjoys leading teams and improving project performance. The Project Manager will provide leadership and mentorship to Project Coordinators and Designers while helping develop processes and strategies that improve efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

Day-to-day duties
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure timely completion within budget and scope.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, productivity, and resource allocation plans.
  • Monitor project status and provide regular feedback/updates to project stakeholders.
  • Strong data analytics and presentation skills are required. (Excel, PowerPoint mandatory)
  • Ability to understand data handling will be a key skill, as the project manager will be expected to effectively communicate with our developers.
  • Communicate project transparency of issues and risks to project stakeholders.
  • Manage project change requests and ensure they are properly documented and approved.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans and status reports.
  • Identify risks and mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, including stakeholders, project coordinators, and designers in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel used for tracking, problem-solving and data handling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of the English language, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent time and project management capabilities to meet deadlines.
  • Inquisitive by nature, driven entrepreneur.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor in a field of Engineering, Construction Management, business, or other STEM Fields.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in the electric utility industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and cost management.
