Job summary

APA International Placement Consultants seeks a Project Manager for a 12-month contract in Phoenix, AZ or Portland, OR. The role is hybrid with two days in the office.

You will lead small to mid‑size projects, manage teams and vendors, and develop plans, budgets, timelines and deliverables using NWN PMO templates.

Candidates should have 5+ years of PM experience, a business/tech degree, PMI certification preferred, and strong communication skills to coordinate across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of project management experience.
• PMI or equivalent certification preferred.
• Demonstrated success applying project management concepts across multiple projects.
• Strong communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and manage difficult conversations with tact.

Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium complexity projects and deliver results.
• Manage project team, including NWN and external resources.
• Develop project plans, budgets, scope, timelines, outcomes, and deliverables using NWN PMO templates.
• Conduct analyses to estimate and track project costs and budgets.
• Define resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource managers.
• Manage vendor relationships to align schedules and costs with the plan.
• Establish and maintain the project risk log; resolve issues and escalate as needed.
• Manage change control and follow existing policies.
• Ensure project-related documentation is accurate and complete.

Job Description

Candidates should have experience managing a combination of the following project types:

• Network infrastructure and cloud modernization projects
  
• Cybersecurity, access control, and security standardization
  
• SCADA and operational technology projects
  
• Asset management and GIS-related initiatives
  
• Enterprise applications implementations (CIS, SaaS, and system integrations)
  
• Application familiarity with: ESRI, IQGEO, Verkada, CUSI, Elements, Splunk, Five9, SAP
  

Key Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium complexity projects, assuming accountability for delivering results
  
• Manage project team, including NWN and external resources
  
• Develop project plans, budgets, scope, timelines, outcomes, and deliverables using NWN PMO tools and templates
  
• Conduct analyses to estimate and track project costs and budgets

Requirements

• Understanding of business process improvement and change management desired
  
• Will be required to be on site visits in surrounding areas.
