Job description

  • 12+ years in IT delivery with a minimum of 8 years in a dedicated Project manager role — must have successfully led at least two large-scale, cross-functional projects to completion across different project types such as system migrations, digital transformations, platform implementations, or new product launches

  • Strong command of both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies — ability to apply the right framework to the right context, and to manage hybrid projects where different workstreams operate under different delivery models simultaneously

  • Expertise in project governance — ability to set up and run a full governance structure from scratch: RAID log, steering committee, change control board, escalation matrix, and status reporting cadence tailored to the project's complexity and stakeholder expectations

  • Proficiency in project planning and tracking tools — Jira, MS Project, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalent — and advanced reporting using Excel or Power BI to build executive-level dashboards and project health views

  • Financial management skills — experience owning a project budget, tracking actuals vs. forecast on a T&M or fixed-price basis, managing scope change requests with impact assessments, and presenting financial status to senior leadership

  • Proven experience managing large vendor delivery partnerships — defining SOWs, tracking against contractual deliverables, running governance reviews with vendor leadership, and holding delivery teams accountable without creating adversarial dynamics

  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple parallel workstreams — architecture, engineering, data, QA, security, infrastructure, and business readiness — ensuring dependencies are mapped, sequenced, and tracked across the full project lifecycle

  • Experience with organizational change management — identifying business impact of project changes, developing stakeholder communication plans, managing resistance, and ensuring teams and end users are ready before go‑live

  • Strong experience with risk management — identifying project-level risks early, building credible mitigation plans, quantifying risk exposure, and escalating only what genuinely requires SLT intervention with recommended options attached

  • SAFe or equivalent scaled Agile experience — familiarity with PI Planning, Project Increment objectives, ART-level ceremonies, and multi-team dependency management for Agile projects running at scale

  • Own full accountability for project delivery across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk — from project initiation through delivery, go‑live, and stabilization; the project's success or failure is this role's responsibility

  • Define the project roadmap and integrated delivery plan at the outset — break the project into logical phases or waves, identify the critical path, map all workstream dependencies, and establish milestones that stakeholders can hold the team to

  • Establish and operate project governance from day one — steering committee cadence, RAID log, change control board, decision log, and status reporting framework; governance must be operational before delivery teams begin work, not retrofitted after problems appear

  • Manage vendor and partner delivery organizations — own the SOW and contractual obligations, run regular governance reviews, enforce SLA commitments, accelerate vendor performance issues through the right channels, and document all delivery decisions

  • Drive cross‑functional workstream alignment — c hair dependency resolution sessions, maintain the integrated dependency log, assign ownership to every cross‑team dependency, and track resolution to closure before it becomes a blocker

  • Own project financial management — track T&M actuals and forecast weekly, manage change requests through formal scope change process with full impact assessment on budget, schedule, and risk, and present financial health to SLT with transparency

  • Facilitate and own Agile project ceremonies where applicable — PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect and Adapt workshops — ensuring all teams have clear objectives, dependencies mapped, and capacity planned for each increment

  • Proactively manage the RAID log — identify risks before they become issues, assign owners, review mitigation progress weekly, and elevate items that exceed the project's risk tolerance with clear options and a recommended course of action

  • Lead change management activities — assess the organizational impact of the project, build a stakeholder communication plan, ensure business readiness activities (training, process change, cutover preparation) are tracked as project deliverables not afterthoughts

  • Be the single accountable point of contact for project health — provide weekly written status reports and participate in steering committee meetings with an honest, metric‑backed view of progress, risks, and decisions needed; never present a rosier picture than reality supports
