Job summary

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is seeking a Project Manager to lead the execution of strategic initiatives within a remote, US-based setting. You will manage project plans, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communications to ensure delivery aligned with organizational priorities.

Reporting to the PMO, you’ll coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor risks, and uphold standard PM practices. A CAPM or equivalent certification and NetSuite experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a project management role.
  • CAPM or similar project management certification or actively working towards.
  • Experience utilizing standard project management tools, templates and technology.
  • Experience using NetSuite for project management and/or business operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget execution.
  • Complete administrative tasks that allow the project to move forward, as needed.
  • Facilitate reviews to monitor scope, schedule, and quality; ensure alignment across contributors.
  • Communicate status, risks, and decisions; elevate as appropriate.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and produce accurate forecasts.
  • Identify financial risks or variances and coordinate resolution with leadership.
  • Oversee procurement and vendor management, including purchase orders, sub-awards, and vendor performance in support of project goals.
  • Identify, log, and monitor risks and issues.
  • Lead mitigation activities using PMO processes.
  • Implement change control processes; assess impacts and obtain required approvals.
  • Maintain updated project plans and budgets after changes are implemented and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Assess resourcing needs and coordinate assignments with functional leads.
  • Monitor workload balance and flag gaps or constraints.
  • Foster accountability and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and manage project scope aligned to goals and organizational priorities.
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans and manage dependencies across the project lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of project financials, including budget tracking, cost management, and margin awareness.
  • Ability to identify risks and support tradeoff decisions to maintain project progress.
  • Working knowledge of contract requirements and governance processes to support compliance.
  • Ability to coordinate resources and support effective utilization through changes in project scope, timeline, or approach.
  • Ability to monitor project performance and report on key metrics.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build alignment across stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated skill in coordinating team members and tracking execution of deliverables.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes within project work.
  • Sound judgment in day-to-day decisions with appropriate guidance and escalation.
  • Consistent professionalism aligned with organizational standards.

Position Summary

Reporting into the Project Management Office, the Project Manager leads the execution of individual projects that advance organizational priorities. This role is responsible for managing project plans, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful and efficient delivery. The Project Manager supports cross-functional coordination, executes administrative needs, monitors risks, and promotes the use of standard project management practices and tools.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

PMO and Project Execution

Position Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a project management role

Preferred
  • Experience in:

This is a remote position that may require some domestic and international travel. The position manages and works with dispersed teams across multiple time zones.
