Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Newport News, VA. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional with experience managing projects in an industrial or boiler environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating projects, working closely with customers and internal teams, monitoring project progress, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
Industrial boiler experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with HVAC or commercial boiler experience will not be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate industrial boiler and mechanical projects from start to completion.
- Plan project activities, schedules, resources, and required materials.
- Coordinate with customers, field personnel, technicians, vendors, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work remains on schedule and within scope.
- Review project requirements and identify potential issues or delays.
- Communicate project updates, timelines, and expectations to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or project-related issues.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with safety, quality, and company requirements.
- Track project documentation, materials, labor, and other project-related information.
- Support scheduling and coordination of field activities.
- Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify project risks and communicate concerns promptly to management.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned projects.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in project management, project coordination, or a related mechanical/industrial role.
- Strong preference for candidates with industrial boiler experience.
- Mechanical background or strong mechanical knowledge is required.
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, plant, or heavy mechanical environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, field teams, vendors, and internal personnel.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Preferred Experience:
- Industrial boiler installation, maintenance, repair, or service experience.
- Industrial steam or boiler systems experience.
- Experience coordinating mechanical projects in industrial facilities.
- Experience working with industrial equipment, machinery, or mechanical systems.
- Industrial boiler experience is strongly preferred.
- HVAC and commercial boiler experience alone will not be considered.
