Job summary

Boston Conveyor & Automation (BCA), part of the Mpac Group, seeks a Project Manager to lead automation and material handling projects for food manufacturing, life sciences, and general manufacturing clients.

You will manage concepts through planning, execution, FAT/SAT, and handover, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and high quality. Travel about 20% is expected, with cross-functional collaboration across engineering, supply chain, and finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a customer-facing project management role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Understanding of workplace and project safety standards.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading multiple automation and material handling projects simultaneously.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Developing and communicating project schedules, timelines, and milestones.
• Managing project budgets, risks, and change orders.
• Coordinating resources across engineering, supply chain, finance, and leadership teams.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Supporting FAT and SAT activities.
• Managing project closeout activities and punch lists.

Lead Complex Automation Projects from Concept to Completion

Are you an experienced Project Manager who thrives on delivering technically challenging projects and building strong customer relationships?

At Boston Conveyor & Automation (BCA), part of the Mpac Group, we're looking for a Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of automation and material handling solutions for customers across the food manufacturing, life sciences, and general manufacturing sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage high-value projects ranging from $100K to over $10M, working with cutting-edge automation technologies and collaborating with cross-functional engineering, supply chain, finance, and leadership teams.

What You'll Be Doing

As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of projects from initial concept through planning, execution, installation, testing, and final handover. You'll serve as the primary customer contact while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading multiple automation and material handling projects simultaneously
• Acting as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
• Developing and communicating project schedules, timelines, and milestones
• Managing project budgets, risks, and change orders
• Coordinating resources across engineering, supply chain, finance, and leadership teams
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting
• Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Managing project closeout activities and punch listsBuilding strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Conducting project reviews and implementing best practices for future success

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 4 years' experience in a customer-facing project management role
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
• Understanding of workplace and project safety standards
• Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time

Preferred

• Experience working within OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) environments
• Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing ERP systems
• Construction project management experience is highly valued
