Business Analyst / Project Manager – Digital Assets & Tokenization
Location: New York, NY
Work Model: Hybrid
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Initial Duration: 3 months, with potential quarterly extensions based on project demand
Pay Range: $86–$92/hour W2
About the Role
Calculated Hire is seeking a senior Business Analyst / Project Manager to support a large financial-services organization within its institutional Digital Assets and Tokenization function.
The broader digital-assets strategy and direction are already established. This role will focus on translating that strategy into execution by developing requirements, product and project plans, operating models, controls, process flows, and implementation workstreams across areas such as tokenization, custody, collateral, settlement, and post-trade operations.
The ideal candidate combines institutional digital-assets knowledge with strong BA/PM execution skills and can independently take ownership of complex workstreams from initial requirements through implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering across Business, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Financial Crimes, and other stakeholders.
- Translate strategic objectives into detailed business and functional requirements, process flows, operating models, and executable project plans.
- Build and maintain product and project roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and implementation plans.
- Deep dive into underlying product and operational functionality across digital-assets use cases including tokenization, custody, collateral, settlement, and post-trade.
- Develop current-state and target-state workflows and identify operational, technology, control, and process gaps.
- Partner closely with Technology and Product teams to translate business requirements into actionable delivery work.
- Support backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, release planning, and related Agile delivery activities.
- Coordinate UAT, business testing, issue tracking, remediation, and implementation readiness.
- Identify cross-functional dependencies and proactively drive decisions, escalation, and resolution.
- Develop governance materials and provide clear updates on scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress.
- Operate independently within an evolving digital-assets environment where requirements and execution paths may not always be fully defined.
Required Skills
- Strong Business Analyst, Project Manager, Product Owner, or Product Manager experience within financial services or capital markets.
- Direct experience with institutional digital assets, tokenization, blockchain/DLT, or related financial-market infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Experience developing BRDs, process flows, operating models, project plans, roadmaps, or similar execution artifacts.
- Strong understanding of capital-markets operations and at least one of the following areas: custody, settlement, collateral, clearing, asset servicing, liquidity, or post-trade.
- Experience managing complex workstreams involving Business, Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, or Compliance partners.
- Demonstrated ability to identify gaps, structure ambiguous problems, and independently drive work toward execution.
- Experience supporting testing, UAT, implementation, and production readiness.
Desired Skills
- Experience with tokenized securities, tokenized funds, stablecoins, digital-asset custody, or collateral mobility.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or comparable project and delivery-management tools.
- Experience within a large bank, broker-dealer, asset manager, custodian, exchange, or financial-market infrastructure organization.
- Knowledge of institutional trade lifecycle, reconciliation, books and records, liquidity management, or settlement controls.
- Experience working within highly regulated financial-services environments.
