Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a capable Project Manager to lead assigned programs from award through launch and ongoing support in a manufacturing environment in Milwaukee, WI.

The role requires coordinating requirements from customers and internal stakeholders, detailing a plan with tasks, owners, budgets, and milestones; assessing feasibility; and maintaining proactive communication. Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in PM, familiarity with MS Project, and Six Sigma certification.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering.
  • Familiar with MS Project and MRP systems.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead programs from award to launch and support through end of program.
  • Capture stakeholder requirements for quality, capacity, timing, and product characteristics.
  • Develop a clear plan with tasks, owners, budget, timing, milestones.
  • Assess feasibility by analyzing technology, resources, and market demand.
  • Manage proactive customer communications and build relationships.
  • Identify and communicate issues and roadblocks to customers.
  • Initiate MEAs for program equipment and tooling approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF16949, APQP, and gate approvals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Leads assigned programs from project award through launch, and support through end of program.
  2. Has thorough understanding, documentation, and attainment of both external clients and internal stakeholders' requirements for quality, capacity, timing, and product characteristics.
  3. Develops from the requirements a clear path with task breakdown, assigned owners, budget, timing, and major milestones.
  4. Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand.
  5. Manages proactive customer communications (meetings, reports, etc.) building working relationships with open and honest communication.
  6. Anticipates any issues and roadblocks to communicate to internal and external customers.
  7. Initiate and obtain approval of Major Expenditure Authorizations (MEAs) for program related equipment and tooling.
  8. Ensure compliance with IATF16949, MEC's APQP and other applicable procedures and policies including completion of gate approvals.
  9. May perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including weldments, laser cutting, and press brake operations.
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing business processes is required.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification is highly desired.
  • Proficient with MRP systems, Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Time management and interpersonal skills are required.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of project management experience.
