Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Five to seven years of project management or related experience.
• PMP certification and/or PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, and resources to establish effective plans.
• Coordinate estimates, SOWs, RFPs, and planning documentation.
• Ensure budgets are accurately phased and tracked in Unanet and related systems.
• Define project responsibilities, deliverables, and schedules with teams.
• Lead kickoff meetings and regular status reviews with stakeholders.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, milestones, and overall performance; communicate updates to clients.

Job description

MSB Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Project Controls team. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing projects from initiation through completion, with a strong focus on schedule, budget, communication, risk management, and successful project delivery.

The Project Manager works closely with Department Managers, technical teams, Project Controls, Accounting, clients, and other stakeholders to keep projects organized, appropriately resourced, financially sound, and moving forward.

What You'll Do

• Review project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, and available resources to establish effective project plans.
• Coordinate estimates, requirements documentation, Statements of Work (SOWs), RFP documentation, and other information needed for project planning.
• Ensure project budgets are properly phased and established within Unanet and applicable document management systems.
• Partner with Department Managers and Team Leads to establish project responsibilities, deliverables, schedules, and expectations.
• Lead project kickoff and recurring status meetings with project teams and stakeholders.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, deliverables, and overall performance.
• Provide clients with timely project status, schedule, budget, and risk updates.
• Identify and communicate schedule deviations, budget concerns, scope changes, resource issues, and other project risks.
• Use earned value management and other project control techniques to evaluate performance and identify potential concerns.
• Coordinate project change orders, transmittals, completion letters, and closeout activities.
• Collaborate with Accounting to help ensure project-related financial and Accounts Receivable items are addressed.
• Maintain clear, consistent communication among project teams, leadership, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Ability to create accountability and influence project outcomes while working across teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Unanet or comparable project management, financial, or time-tracking systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of earned value management concepts and techniques is preferred.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or
• Five to seven years of relevant project management or related professional experience; or
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PMP certification and/or a Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
