Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer in Mesa, AZ to support a growing structural steel organization. You will coordinate technical information between customers, design teams, detailers, subcontractors, fabrication shops, and field personnel.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience with structural steel projects, can interpret design/shop drawings, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting structural steel projects through coordination, detailing, BIM, design, fabrication, or erection
• Working knowledge of structural steel construction practices, fabrication standards, and industry terminology
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings and 3D BIM models for accuracy and completeness
• Coordinate solutions for discrepancies, omissions, and technical issues with customers, engineers, architects, detailers, subcontractors, and field teams
• Serve as a liaison between fabrication shops, field personnel, detailers, subcontractors, and Project Managers
• Assist with detailing setup, project sequencing, advance bills, shop drawings, and erection drawings
• Provide direction and guidance to steel detailers based on project requirements and applicable standards
• Monitor project schedules for submittals, approvals, and fabrication release milestones
• Identify potential project risks, delays, and scheduling conflicts
• Organize and manage formal and informal RFIs
• Route and distribute project drawings while partnering with Document Control to maintain accurate logs and avoid delays
• Support the resolution of fabrication and erection issues
• Communicate technical information between engineering, fabrication, and field teams to keep projects moving efficiently

Key Responsibilities
