Job summary

Waupaca Foundry, Inc. is seeking a project management professional to lead large, cross-functional initiatives across Engineering, Operations and Procurement.

You will drive project delivery, mentor coordinators, and ensure designs are manufacturable while aligning with supplier capabilities and cost targets. You will coordinate with procurement and outsourced partners to meet quality, delivery, and financial objectives, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in casting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or Manufacturing or 4+ years related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously and mentor Project Coordinators.
  • Serve as primary liaison between Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality and Outsourcing.
  • Track progress and ensure deliverables meet objectives, timelines and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering to ensure manufacturability and alignment with supplier capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Value-Add Outsourcing for third-party machining and finishing.
  • Monitor design for manufacturability (DFM) and value engineering efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across casting operations and post-processing workflows.
  • Ensure sourcing of materials and services aligns with project timing and financial goals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing) or 4+ years related work experience

Manages large complex projects with limited oversight. Track and elevate issues to closure. Lead multiple projects simultaneously. Will mentor and support Project Coordinators and will lead and monitorcross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Cross-Departmental Coordination:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering, Operations, Value-Add Outsourcing, Procurement, and Quality.
  • Facilitate effective communication, ensuring all departments are alignedonobjectives, timelines, and requirements.
Project Execution Support:
  • Track and report progress on programs and initiatives related to the overall project management process.
  • Works with the engineering teams to ensure engineering designs are manufacturable and aligned with supplier capabilities and procurementstrategies.
  • Monitor all project deliverables and ensure they are meeting the customers and organizations objectives
Outsourcing and Supplier Integration:
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Value-Add Outsourcing teams toidentify, onboard, and manage third-party service providers for machining, finishing, or other post-casting operations.
  • Ensure outsourced operations align with quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Engineering Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with engineering teams during design and development to ensure manufacturability, cost, and sourcingobjectivesare achieved.
  • Monitor and report that design for manufacturability (DFM) and value engineering effortsarecompleted.
Procurement Support:
  • Work closely with procurement teams to ensuretimelysourcing of materials and services aligning with project timing.
  • Ensure procurement teams strategy aligns with financial initiatives of the project
Process Improvement:
  • Identifiedopportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Track and Support continuous improvement initiatives related to casting operations and post-processing workflows

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing) or minimum 4 years related work experience.
