Job summary

Parkhill in Texas is seeking a Project Manager to lead design and construction initiatives from initiation through closeout. You will work with clients, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.

This full-time role supports bi-weekly salary, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within a leading architectural and engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible project/ construction management experience.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage scope, schedule, budget.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Experience with public/private sector capital projects and various delivery methods.
• Professional certifications such as PE, AIA, PMP, CCM, or DBIA preferred.

Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of design and construction projects from initiation through closeout. Working with clients, design teams, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders, the Project Manager provides leadership across scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, procurement, and overall project execution. Depending on the assignment, the Project Manager may provide traditional project management, program management, Owner's Representative, or construction management services while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams. The Project Manager leads multidisciplinary teams, anticipates and resolves project challenges, mentors Assistant Project Managers, and maintains accountability for successful project outcomes. This is a full-time position paid bi-weekly on an annual salary basis.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages assigned projects from initiation through closeout, maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and overall project objectives.


• Develops and implements Project Execution Plans (PEPs) that establish the project delivery strategy, scope, schedule, budget, procurement approach, project controls, communication protocols, stakeholder engagement, decision-making processes, and other requirements appropriate to the assignment.


• Leads coordination among clients, design teams, consultants, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and other project stakeholders to facilitate timely decisions and successful project delivery.


• Establishes, monitors, and manages project schedules and key milestones; identifies schedule risks and leads development and implementation of mitigation and recovery strategies.


• Manages project budgets, commitments, contracts, invoices, changes, and financial forecasts; identifies trends and potential cost impacts and provides timely recommendations to clients and project leadership.


• Identifies, evaluates, and manages project risks, issues, decisions, and changes; develops mitigation strategies, maintains appropriate tracking mechanisms, and escalates significant matters as necessary.


• Leads preconstruction and planning activities, including design coordination and reviews, constructability, budgeting, value analysis, procurement planning, phasing, and stakeholder coordination.


• Manages procurement and contract administration activities, including RFQs, RFPs, consultant and contractor selection, contracts, RFIs, submittals, payment applications, change requests, claims, and other project requirements as applicable to the assignment.


• Monitors design and construction progress and performance against established project objectives and coordinates corrective actions when performance deviates from plan.


• Leads project meetings and facilitates communication, decision-making, issue resolution, and accountability among project stakeholders.


• Prepares and presents project status reports, dashboards, forecasts, risk information, recommendations, and other executive-level or client-facing project communications.


• Conducts site visits and coordinates with construction management and design personnel to understand field conditions, monitor project progress, and facilitate resolution of construction-related issues.


• Monitors applicable project requirements and coordinates with responsible parties regarding observed concerns related to safety, environmental requirements, codes, permits, and regulatory compliance.


• Leads project closeout and turnover activities, including completion tracking, commissioning coordination, documentation, financial closeout, lessons learned, and transition to client operations.


• Maintains complete and accurate project records and ensures compliance with Parkhill’s project management, QA/QC, contractual, and administrative requirements.


• Mentors Assistant Project Managers and other project staff, delegates appropriate responsibilities, reviews work products, and supports their professional development.


• Supports continuous improvement of Parkhill’s project management, program management, Owner’s Representative, construction management, and project controls practices.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field


• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project management, construction management, program management, design management, or related delivery of capital projects.


• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage project scope, schedule, and budget


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills


• Experience managing complex capital projects across public and/or private sectors; experience with public-sector, education, healthcare, civic, infrastructure, or other institutional capital programs preferred.


• Working knowledge of multiple project delivery and procurement methods, including Design-Bid-Build, CMAR/CM/GC, Design-Build, Job Order Contracting, and other alternative delivery methods.


• Professional certifications such as PE, AIA, PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or DBIA (Design-Build Professional), preferred
