Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate Management, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience managing complex projects or program development.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, implement and evaluate assigned functions or programs.
  • Lead projects from requirements through deployment, including schedules, scope and budget.
  • Identify risks and mitigation plans; manage resources to meet scope, schedule and budget.
  • Maintain client stakeholder relationships and provide day-to-day project status updates.
  • Establish project plans, lifecycle management, quality standards and risk assessment.
  • Oversee daily project operations and enforce rules, guidelines and procedures.
  • Implement quality control to meet or exceed standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation such as progress reports and meeting minutes.
  • Communicate progress to clients and stakeholders; lead cross-functional teams.
  • Structure and manage integrated databases for multiple project channels.
  • Allocate and monitor resources to maximize deliverables; report outcomes and risks.

Job description

POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Under general direction, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, implementation and evaluation of one or more assigned functions or specialized program areas in their respective department. The incumbent will lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation; coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget; analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met; establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes; and perform other related duties as assigned.


Special Note: The posted salary is an estimate of the potential annual pay. Final offer will be dependent on qualifications and experience.


Anticipated Hiring Pay Scale: $118,2400 - $146,286.40 Annually



  • Establish and maintain processes for full-scale project plans using appropriate tools and techniques which include managing the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards, and assessing risks.

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a project following established rules, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and project plans.

  • Build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction; communicate project progress regularly to clients and stakeholders.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams, set clear goals, delegate tasks, and foster collaboration among team members to ensure the success of projects.

  • Structure and manage integrated, multitrack performance databases for digital, print, social, broadcast, and experiential projects.

  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.

  • Report project outcomes and or risks to the appropriate management channels and elevate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned and required.


Knowledge of:


  • Principles and practices of public and business administration, including organization, program management

  • Statistical and research methods and use of business analysis tools

  • Analyze data, conceptualize solutions, and make effective recommendations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate Management, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field appropriate to assigned department/functions -AND- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience managing complex projects or program development and administration -OR- any equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have a PMP or other project management certification.


Special Requirements

Must possess a valid California Class \"C\" Driver's License.

Candidates will start at step of an eight step salary range unless there are special exceptions in accordance with agency Personnel Rules.
