Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a senior environmental consultant in the United States to lead complex investigations of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and indoor air, guiding remedial design and achieving case closures. You will manage budgets, timelines, and teams while engaging with clients, regulators, and attorneys.

The role requires a CA license, ~10 years in environmental consulting, strong reporting and regulatory communication skills, and capability to travel.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Geology/Hydrogeology or Civil/Environmental Engineering.
  • Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer license (CA).
  • Experience designing and implementing environmental investigations and remediation (chlorinated solvents experience is desirable).
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Experience managing projects and personnel required.
  • Strong writing skills (proposals, work plans, reports, communication with regulators/attorneys/clients).
  • Strong interpersonal skills including experience interacting with regulators (RWQCB and DTSC), attorneys, clients, subcontractors.
  • Academic training and professional experience in groundwater flow and contaminant geochemistry,
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data,
  • Knowledge of California regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation and vapor intrusion, and
  • Experience with litigation support is desirable
  • Professional work and scientific ethics
  • Ability to travel periodic

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing investigations of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and indoor air to determine fate and transport of contaminants, to mitigate risk to human health, to design remedial solutions, and obtain case closure.
  • Managing all aspects of projects including budgets, personnel, and deadlines
  • Interacting with clients, their attorneys, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, company staff, and the general public
  • Writing and reviewing work plans, reports, site conceptual models, and other project correspondence
  • Designing, installing, operating, and reporting on remedial systems
  • Evaluating data to support the litigation needs of our clients
