Job summary

International Erosion Control Association in Michigan seeks an experienced Heavy Industrial Construction Project Manager to lead planning with a strong safety focus, and to coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

You will develop schedules, manage budgets and change orders, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive project closeout for timely completion, with a background in manufacturing, automotive, or power sectors and proficiency in Primavera P6 and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years in heavy industrial construction project management.
  • Ability to manage safety, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or power & energy sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning with safety focus and risk mitigation.
  • Serve as primary client contact and lead coordination meetings.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, objectives, and performance standards.
  • Ensure clear communication across clients, design teams, subcontractors, stakeholders.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, cash flow, profitability.
  • Oversee subcontractor coordination and weekly meetings.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontracts and change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with labor agreements and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve project risks and issues.
  • Manage project closeout for timely completion.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning with a strong focus on safety, partnering with site safety teams to identify and mitigate risks
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and lead regular coordination and reporting meetings
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, objectives, and performance standards
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication across clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, cash flow, and profitability
  • Oversee subcontractor coordination, including weekly meetings and performance tracking
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontracts and change orders
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Proactively identify and resolve project risks and issues
  • Manage project closeout processes to ensure smooth and timely completion
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in heavy industrial construction project management
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of a project including safety, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working in manufacturing, automotive, or power & energy sectors preferred
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, Autodesk Build, and Viewpoint Vista
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and construction processes
