Description

At Schuff, our Project Manager will manage all activities associated with the construction of an assigned project, from start to finish, ensuring completion within time and budget constraints. You will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables meet scope and budget, collaborating with other departments for smooth execution. Our PMs have managed some of the most impressive building structures in North America, and we are looking to add a seasoned professional to our team.

Key Performance Objectives
  1. Review project proposals and scope plans to determine timelines, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation.
  2. Maintain all contractual terms and obligations.
  3. Ensure projects meet cost requirements; consult with VP or PM if costs exceed budget and obtain approval for out-of-budget expenses.
  4. Properly account for change orders.
  5. Coordinate with departments and subcontractors for scheduling of work and materials.
  6. Manage relationships with customers and vendors, resolving potential barriers to maximize production and minimize costs.
  7. Visit job sites as needed, which may include out-of-state travel.
  8. Prepare management reports and meet with key personnel to ensure project timeliness.
  9. Collaborate with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Contractors, and crews to verify construction drawings.
  10. Review plans and proposals to determine proper procedures for achieving company goals.
  11. Ensure thorough documentation of all project aspects.
  12. Direct, coordinate, and monitor project team activities to ensure quality work.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities

The above describes the general nature of the work. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required by management.

Qualifications
Education/Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or Business preferred.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures.
  • Understanding of AISC standards and AWS codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience managing large commercial and industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling/Tekla system; ability to handle multiple projects under deadlines.
Work Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Project/Construction Manager in the structural steel industry.
Software & Technology
  • MS Windows 10, MS Office 365, Contract Manager, Primavera, Tekla system.
Work Environment
  • Frequent travel by air and road; valid driver’s license required.
  • Primarily indoors but with visits to outdoor facilities and sites.
