Job description

  • Effective June 29, 2026, the minimum salary will be $27.286 per hour.
  • This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
  • Pay Grade 520

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to perform work in the planning and management of construction, maintenance, and/or repair projects essential to the mission of the assigned division by tracking project progress, making recommendations for improvement and coordinating the work of personnel to complete projects on time and within budget.

This Project Manager position manages all aspects of capital construction projects for Parks and Recreation. The Project Manager provides valuable input into project planning and design and oversees all aspects of construction. This includes, but is not limited to, bid management, contract management, community engagement and information, contractor oversight, progress reports, accounts receivable and final project approval.

The Project Manager position will also assist in performing asset inventory, assessments and budgetary estimates for future projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education in a related field
  • Four years of related experience
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of related experience
  • Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plans, designs, manages, directs, tracks, and reports on construction, maintenance, and/or repair project activities and researches ideas for improvement
  • Manages on-site inspections, observations and maintains records
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems
  • Drafts contracts and agreements
  • Obtains permits and licenses
  • Provides oversight and control of special contracts and projects
  • Audits and approves invoices, tracks funds, prepares bid proposals and other administrative tasks
  • Maintains communication and responds to inquiries from LFUCG employees and the public
  • Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

  • Valid Driver's License
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be accessible for on-call duty and ability to work weekends and holidays, as assigned, and on emergencies.
