Job summary

This fully remote opportunity allows you the flexibility to work from home in support of the USDA DISC’s location in Kansas City, MO.

Our Customer’s Mission:
The USDA Digital Infrastructure Services Center (DISC) operates 24/7/365 to provide comprehensive on premises and cloud-based hosting services, including Disaster Recovery, security, and professional support services and operations to approximately 35 federal organizations. The USDA and other Federal partners depend upon DISC’s highly complex and interconnected technology infrastructure to conduct their operations. To better support this mission, DISC is modernizing their technology by transitioning to a continuous integration, deployment, and code-based organization.

An average day:
As Project Manager, you will provide Agile project management leadership for cross functional teams spanning multiple business lines in support of a Federal Information Technology organization. This position will drive projects through completion, ensuring that the customer’s project goals are met while providing value to the customer through the use of automation and orchestration tools. In this position you will:

  • Oversee daily management of assigned projects for the Federal Contract.
  • Provide Agile project management for multiple projects that span across the organization through various business lines.
  • Serve as the point of contact for projects, communicate with senior leaders regarding project timeliness, priorities, risk and resource management, sets expectations through the project.
  • Manage assigned resources by tracking and holding team members (including vendors) accountable for services, performance, and deliverables including capturing project labor hours, resource availability, and deconflicting minor interpersonal issues as they impact projects.
  • Manage the scope of work encompassed by the task order(s) with regards to deliverables and other project milestones.
  • Provide direction to the project team and review the quality of all work products.
  • Responsible for staffing, project planning, project financials, and staff direction and oversight.
  • Maintain and cultivate client relationships.
  • Maintain personnel training and certification of workforce to ensure program success and compliance.
  • Submit reports as required by each contracting authority.
  • Travel to various sites as required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT or Business Management or related field preferred.
  • Currently Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrated in Agile project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross functional business groups to build, sustain, and strengthen Agile values while providing the necessary guidance, direction, and tools to successfully implement across multiple high impact, critically sensitive platforms.
  • Experience in leading project teams utilizing Jira/Confluence Project Management Software. Jira Version 8.20.13 and Confluence version 7.19.3 preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently with varying deadlines and levels of importance.
  • Experience collaborating with Technology and Business Teams to deliver data and technology solutions that meet business objectives while promoting team unity and cohesiveness under stress.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects effectively and efficiently with varying deadlines and levels of importance and identifies when and how to escalate problems to the appropriate level.
  • Proven ability to lead efforts of analysis and resolution of problems or issues and convey complex problems with recommended course action to senior leaders and gain their support.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Jira/Confluence managing IT projects.
  • Strong team player; self-assured, confident, and goal oriented.
  • Ability to solve problems and translate policies into daily routine operations.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex problems to any audience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Datacenter Operations and/or Datacenter Migration preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust.(This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust. Adjudication of the required Security Clearance or Public Trust is determined solely by the government. If the government determines that the candidate cannot obtain and/or maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust, Epsilon will be unable to place the candidate in this position.)
