Confidential is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Markets and Securities Services Operations to lead the Strategy & Change Delivery initiatives, coordinating global programmes and regional stakeholders. You will manage multiple tasks from inception to implementation, ensure timely delivery, and align operations with the global plan while mitigating risks.

The role requires strong communication, vendor management, and a deep understanding of front-to-back processes in a complex trading

  • Escalation point for operations scope and removal of impediments.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with Process Owners, regional heads and SCD.
  • Oversee RAID, status reports and governance updates across the project.

Job description

Department: Markets and Securities Services (MSS) Operations

WTF/in-office/Hybrid: Hybrid. 3 day per week in office at a minimum. US working hours to accommodate world business.

Contract Duration: 12 months, with expectation to extend up to 2 years

Role Purpose

The Operations Strategy & Change Delivery (S&CD) function provides project and program management delivery to enable Operations to deliver priority change-the-bank initiatives from a variety of sources including strategic, regulatory and business drive change.

Strategy & Change Delivery is responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining a book of work (portfolio) as well as successful delivery of projects that have been agreed with key stakeholders at both the regional and global level, including global strategic programmes.

The function also provides guidance and support to the countries in the region regarding Markets and Securities Services Operational issues.

To this end, and to support a Markets wide change initiative, we require a project manager to join the Strategy & Change Delivery team to take responsibility of several key items within the initiative and as part of a Global change team.

Qualifications
  • Strong and proven experience in running large projects or programmes within a large organisation.
  • Previous experience leading a project/programme team through challenging and time critical deadlines.
  • Thought leader with the ability to innovatively lead the project team to achieve the go-live deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to building strong relationships with team, peers, stakeholders and external delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering overviews and chairing working groups with the team and stakeholders.
  • A broad working knowledge of Global Markets, specifically
    • Products : Markets products inc. Debt, Equity, FX, MM.
    • Front Office Trading Environment
    • Trade Lifecycle : confirmations/affirmations, collateral, recs – internal & external
    • Post Execution Ops Controls
  • Champion knowledge-sharing and best practices within the team.
  • Undertake detailed analysis and remain delivery focused. Furthermore, the successful candidate needs to take ownership of all aspects of the projects to delivery and review.
  • All aspects across the people, process and technology dimensions need to be considered to ensure that change is effectively delivered into the organization.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and considerable experience working with external vendors along with an ability to manage sensitive relationships.

The candidate needs to understand:

  • Large scale operations and operational change within a complex operating environment.
  • Front to back processes and the need for stakeholder engagement & management.
  • Operational risk requirements around generic Operations processes.
Role Overview
  • Leadership of operational aspects of the front-to-back project & responsibility for the agreed Operations scope and Operations milestone deliveries within the project.
  • Manage delivery of multiple tasks/milestones from inception to implementation for Operations; ensure timely and cost effective delivery; actively manage project portfolio conflicts – schedule embargos, issues management and delivery risk.
  • Ensuring Operations plan is in full alignment with global plan and any dependencies and conflicts are appropriately managed and resolved.
  • Act as an escalation point within the project for operations scope and responsible for removing localised impediments with stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring ongoing and consistent engagement and relationship management with stakeholders across the project (i.e. Process Owners, Regional and Function Heads) as well as to corresponding S&CD stakeholders/management.
  • Responsible for ensuring all regional project and programme Milestones, Risks, Issues, Dependencies and Change Requests are logged in Clarity and monitored accordingly to limit the risk to any deliverables.
  • Oversight of status reports produced for the project – ensuring timely and consistent updates are produced in line with reporting and governance cycles.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Global Change Framework (HCF) / S&CD framework and governance is consistently applied across the project for Operations (i.e. working groups, reporting updates, Clarity updates, etc.).
Principal Accountabilities
  • Management, execution and delivery of initiatives within the project. This will include oversight and ownership of the end to end lifecycle of project for Operations and will include the following:
  • Delivery: Project delivery through all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building strong relationships with global/regional stakeholders inside and outside of MSS Ops, ensuring that they are appropriately engaged.
  • Governance: Chair any internal project working group meetings, represent MSS Ops at externally led working groups. Adherence to the HCF / S&CD framework.
  • Project Documentation: Production and oversight of completed project related documentation i.e. Project Plans, Solution Documents etc.
  • RAID Management: Ensure that all risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies are appropriately logged, managed and escalated.
  • Communication: Ensure that timely, accurate and appropriate communication is delivered to relevant stakeholders.
  • Project Reporting: Ensure status reports are updated in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Methodology: Ensure compliance with all HCF / S&CD team standards and processes ensuring the use of the relevant tools and documents.
  • Planning: Produce and maintain project plans.
  • Timely escalation of any critical project related issues to the Programme Manager and/or Key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring any project initiative is delivered in a controlled way with risks appropriately managed and adherence with HCF and S&CD team standards.
  • Navigating the complexity of group wide MSS Ops programmes and multiple applications teams.
  • The size, scope and complexity of S&CD projects and initiatives means that they are fast-moving and dynamic coupled with the individual contribution of a very hands on role requirement.
  • Able to manage multiple internal and external dependencies with competing priorities and deadlines which may impact milestones.
  • Deliver go-lives against challenging strategic and industry deadlines.
