Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead programs from award through launch and support them through completion.

You will capture requirements from customers and internal stakeholders for quality, capacity, timing, and product characteristics, and develop a detailed plan with tasks, owners, budgets, and milestones. The role requires 2+ years of project management experience, familiarity with MS Project, and knowledge of metal fabrication processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with MS Project.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques (weldments, laser cutting, press brake).
  • Experience implementing and optimizing business processes.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Proficient with MRP systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads assigned programs from award through launch and supports through end of program.
  • Captures and aligns external clients' and internal stakeholders' requirements for quality, capacity, timing, and product characteristics.
  • Develops a clear path with tasks, owners, budget, timing, and milestones.
  • Assesses feasibility by evaluating technology, resources, and market demand.
  • Manages proactive communications with customers through meetings and reports.
  • Anticipates issues and communicates roadblocks to stakeholders.
  • Initiates and obtains Major Expenditure Authorizations for program equipment and tooling.
  • Ensures compliance with IATF16949, MEC APQP and related procedures, including gate approvals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Leads assigned programs from project award through launch, and support through end of program.
  • Has thorough understanding, documentation, and attainment of both external clients and internal stakeholders’ requirements for quality, capacity, timing, and product characteristics.
  • Develops from the requirements a clear path with task breakdown, assigned owners, budget, timing, and major milestones.
  • Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand.
  • Manages proactive customer communications (meetings, reports, etc.) building working relationships with open and honest communication.
  • Anticipates any issues and roadblocks to communicate to internal and external customers.
  • Initiate and obtain approval of Major Expenditure Authorizations (MEAs) for program related equipment and tooling.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF16949, MEC’s APQP and other applicable procedures and policies including completion of gate approvals.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including weldments, laser cutting, and press brake operations.
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing business processes is required.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification is highly desired.
  • Proficient with MRP systems, Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Time management and interpersonal skills are required.
