Job summary

Experis is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a 12-month contract in the Fort Lee/Richmond, Virginia area. The role requires active security clearance and demonstrated success in delivering complex IT projects on time and within scope.

The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with clients and vendors, and manage deployment schedules across time zones. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this onsite engagement with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Travel ability as needed.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 4–6 years of project management and/or related management experience, including managing technical projects.
  • Proven cross-functional, end-to-end project management for new initiatives with limited precedent.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience with structured project management methods and tools.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Ability to quickly learn concepts related to government sector clients.
  • Ability to quickly learn new products.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership and drives assigned projects to successful completion.
  • Assesses and monitors project issues and risks; develops mitigation plans and coordinates resources.
  • Manage ITM implementation and deployment schedule.
  • Facilitate customer and internal meetings by conference calls.
  • Support projects during client’s time zone and business hours; some cases outside hours.
  • Schedule, install, validate and deliver products within timelines with high quality and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong client relationships with third-party vendors from kickoff to go-live.
  • Demonstrate leadership and project management skills.
  • Provide support and escalation points during implementation and for internal resources.
  • Conduct lessons learned post-implementation on conversion projects.
  • Manage concurrent client projects.
  • Communicate goals, success measures, plans, status, issues and risks to team and leadership.

Job Details:

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Takes ownership and drives each assigned project to a successful completion
  • Assess and monitors project issues and risks; develops appropriate mitigation plans, coordinates both internal and external resources, escalates per established procedures, to ensure that problems are resolved timely and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Manage ITM implementation and deployment schedule
  • The ability to work virtually with demonstrated ability to facilitate customer and internal meetings by conference calls.
  • Support projects during client’s time zone and business hours and some limited cases outside business hours.
  • Schedule, install, validate and deliver products within scheduled timelines with a high degree of quality and exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a strong client relationship while working with appropriate third-party vendor representatives from project kickoff to go Live date.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and project management skills
  • Provides support, establishes relationship and project management expertise for client during the implementation phase, as well as first tier escalation point for internal resources working on the project.
  • Perform Lessons Learned at post implementation on all conversion projects
  • Manage concurrent clients Projects
  • Drive the documentation and proactive communication of Project goals, measures of success, plans, status, issues and risks in a timely manner to team members, stakeholders and senior management to assure strategic and Project alignment and the timely resolution of issues, risks and roadblocks.
  • Facilitate strong, positive, trusting relationships necessary to understand the customer’s needs and accurately represent the voice and perspective of the customer within NCR
  • Skillfully & proactively generate creative solutions to challenging Project and/or client related issues in a timely manner under potentially stressful situations
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve current processes and approaches and drive the implementation of these changes.
  • Adheres to all company, departmental and project policies and procedures
  • Trains Less experienced employees within assigned area(s) as required
  • Develop innovative solutions to problems and processes
Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 - 6 years’ project management and/or other related management experience, including the management of technical projects
  • Proven cross-function, end-to-end project management for new initiatives where little or no precedent may exist, requiring engagement with and accountability to business & functional group leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical project
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and influencing skills as well as effective listening skills
  • Experience in the use of structured project management methods and tools
  • PMP Certified
  • Ability to quickly learn basic concepts related to government sector clients.
  • Ability to quickly learn new products
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge / experience working with commercial retail management solutions is an advantage
