Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing technical drawings.
  • Experience in bid specification development and contractor negotiation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience supervising personnel in skilled trades or construction environments.
  • Ability to evaluate safety compliance with local and national codes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess project feasibility, including scope, schedule, and budget, to ensure projects are realistic and aligned with business objectives.
  • Create detailed scopes of work, bid packages, and project specifications that clearly define requirements for contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Review technical drawings and engineering documents, provide feedback, and negotiate design changes as needed to optimize project outcomes.
  • Evaluate and ensure safety compliance with applicable local and national codes throughout all phases of the project.
  • Collaborate with third-party safety compliance contractors to verify that all work meets regulatory and safety standards.
  • Work with multiple internal groups and external partners to design and install equipment while meeting defined project milestones.
  • Supervise contractors in green-field and brown-field work environments, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to project plans.
  • Coordinate installation activities with skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers, and equipment manufacturers to ensure smooth execution.
  • Develop and implement countermeasures for project delays to keep projects on track and achieve timely completion.
  • Lead project management activities in a manufacturing environment, including scheduling, resource coordination, and progress tracking.
  • Negotiate with contractors, including bid specification development and contract terms, to secure favorable outcomes and ensure clarity of expectations.
  • Participate in meetings and site observations, including limited international travel, to monitor project status and resolve issues.
  • Use Microsoft Office and AutoCAD tools to prepare documentation, reports, and drawings that support project planning and execution.
  • Apply knowledge of technical drawings to verify constructability, identify potential issues, and support field execution.

Job Description

This role leads complex engineering and construction projects from concept through completion, ensuring they are feasible, compliant, and delivered on time and within budget. Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and working with technical drawings.
  • Experience in bid specification development and contractor negotiation.
  • At least 2 years of experience reviewing technical drawings and providing feedback.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience.
  • Background in mechanical engineering, construction, construction management, or engineering-related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated project management skills in coordinating multiple stakeholders and activities.
  • Experience supervising or managing personnel, particularly within skilled trades or construction environments.
  • Ability to evaluate safety compliance with local and national codes and work effectively with safety professionals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Toyota project management practices or similar automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Automotive paint process experience and familiarity with related equipment and systems.
  • Ability to understand and calculate utility costs and their impact on project feasibility and operations.
  • Experience working with third-party safety compliance contractors.
  • Exposure to large-scale green-field and brown-field industrial projects.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills when working with contractors, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project conditions and develop effective countermeasures for delays.
  • Interest in long‑term, stable contract roles with opportunities to transition into full‑time positions.
  • Comfort working within a structured vendor management system (VMS) environment and collaborating with support teams.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
