Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead heavy civil federal infrastructure projects across the Southwestern United States. You will oversee all phases from startup through warranty, manage project profitability, and maintain key client relationships.

The role requires at least 10 years in project management, design-build experience on federal or heavy civil projects, and a Master’s degree or PMP.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager, as stated on resume.
  • Experience serving as the PM on at least two design-build projects similar in scope to federal border infrastructure or comparable heavy civil construction.
  • Experience serving as PM on at least two projects, each with construction value of $10M+.
  • Border wall, CBP, federal, heavy civil, linear infrastructure, roadway, utility, or similar remote-site construction experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree or PMP required or strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office; Primavera P6 is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day execution of the project through all phases from startup, design/engineering, construction management, change management, and closeout.
  • Manage the project’s profit & loss to preserve profitability throughout the project’s life cycle.
  • Maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests.
  • Oversee design program by the Designer of Record, construction operations by the Superintendent, safety by the Safety Manager, quality by the QC Manager, schedule by the Scheduler, AR/AP by the Project Comptroller.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Chair weekly and/or monthly project meetings with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contract requirements, administrative or otherwise, are satisfied timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Executive or Division President.

Our client is searching for construction Project Managers to join their Federal Services Division in pursuit of heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the Southwestern United States.

Day to day:
  • Manage day to day execution of the project through all phases from initial startup, design and engineering, construction management, change management, closeout, commissioning, and warranty work
  • Manage the project’s profit & loss to preserve profitability throughout the project’s life cycle.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests.
  • Provide oversight of the design program to be managed by the Designer of Record, of construction operations to be managed by the Superintendent, of the safety program to be managed by the Safety Manager, of the quality program to be managed by the QC Manager, of the project schedule through the Scheduler, of AR and AP through the Project Comptroller.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Chair weekly and/or monthly project meetings with all interested stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contract requirements, administrative or otherwise, are satisfied in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Project Executive or Division President.

Skills and Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager – stated on resume
  • Experience serving as the Project Manager on at least two design-build projects similar in scope or complexity to federal border infrastructure or comparable heavy civil construction.
  • Experience serving as the Project Manager on at least two projects, each with a construction value of $10 million or more.
  • Prior border wall, CBP, federal, heavy civil, linear infrastructure, roadway, utility, or similar remote-site construction experience is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates with longer and more stable tenure with previous employers are preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English required
  • Ability to successfully pass background/security check required
  • Master’s degree or PMP
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office is required, and Primavera P6 is a strong plus
