Job summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Project Manager for our Denver, CO office. The role supports environmental justice, remediation, and Brownfields projects with a preference for a hybrid work model; candidates may be based in Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, or Glenwood Springs, CO.

Responsibilities include managing project scope, budget, and schedule; mentoring staff; and coordinating with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results. A background check is required.

Job Description

AECOMis actively seeking a talented Environmental Project Manager for employment in our Denver, CO office. Imagine making a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects, such as environmental justice, remediation, or Brownfields projects. The role has a preference to be a hybrid work model and can be based out of Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins or Glenwood Springs, CO.

Responsibilities for this position may include the following:

  • Understands site investigation and remediation techniques to drive solutions for our clients.
  • Responsible for the overall management of projects and establishing project-specific objectives.
  • Provides management and guidance to AECOM staff, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Engages existing and potential clients regarding AECOM service capabilities and services.
  • Provide mentorship to staff.
  • Oversees and delivers projects in accordance with specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • May oversee and direct Project Managers with multiple projects.
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Supervise the management of all phases of projects.
  • Predict resource needs and manage resources effectively.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
  • Manage more complex clients and projects.
  • Consistently deliver profit margins as planned.
Qualifications
  • BS in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field, AND (4) Four + years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management and business development experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development experience.
  • Licensed (Professional Engineer or Geologist).
  • Experience working with Local and State of Colorado, regulatory agencies.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified (current).
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
