Job summary

Butler America Aerospace is seeking a Project Manager for an onsite Florence, SC role. The position is a 12-month contract with core hours 8 AM–4 PM, with flexibility of one hour before or after.

You will oversee program strategies, budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams to deliver targeted outcomes. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, PMP or PMI certification, and 3–5 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary projects, including product development phases from

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• PMP or PMI certification is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in project/program management.
• Experience leading a cross-functional team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain).
• Familiarity with PM tools such as MS Project is beneficial.

Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager

The main function of a program manager is to oversee and coordinate multiple related projects within an organization to ensure they align with the company’s strategic goals and deliver beneficial change. A typical program manager is responsible for managing the program’s budget, timeline, resources, staff, and delivering expected business value and outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement program strategies, objectives, and metrics to achieve business goals.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and integration of multiple projects within the program.
• Coordinate cross-project activities and facilitate collaboration across functional teams.
• Manage and allocate program resources and budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Identify, monitor, and manage program risks and issues, developing contingency plans when needed.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and align expectations.

Skills

• Strong leadership and strategic thinking with proven project/program management abilities.
• Proficiency in program and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
• Extensive familiarity with management and implementation of business strategy within a program’s framework.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage complex portfolios and navigate organizational change effectively.
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards pertinent to the program’s scope.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• PMP or PMI certification.
• 3-5 years of experience

Must Have

• Engineering degree
• Experience in leading a team of multiple functional areas (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc....)
• Experience in managing product development projects, covering all phases from requirements definition, design & test, industrialization, and delivery.
• PMP certification and PM tools such as MS Project.

Nice To Have

• Experience in a large commercial products is preferred.
