Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Project Manager for a 6-month contract (with possible extension). This role is fully remote within the United States, offering the chance to lead cross-functional initiatives that improve Medicare/Medicaid member experiences while working with Operations, Tech, Product, Marketing, and Strategy.

The Project Manager is an individual contributor responsible for defining, leading, and executing some strategic initiatives across the Community and State (C&S) member experience. These initiatives are often complex, highly visible, and critical to improving operational performance, regulatory readiness, and experience enhancements for our members.

This role is accountable for both determining how work gets done and driving the work forward. You will partner across Operations, Technology, Product, Marketing, Digital, and Strategy to turn ambitious business goals into measurable outcomes. Success requires a combination of strategic thinking, hands‑on execution, resilience, and a willingness to navigate ambiguity, solve difficult problems, and remain focused on achieving meaningful outcomes. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Core hours are M-F from 9am-5pm CT.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projects from initiation through implementation
  • Define project scope, milestones, success metrics, governance structures, and execution strategies
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans that align teams around shared objectives and timelines
  • Manage cross‑functional dependencies and ensure coordinated execution across multiple workstreams
  • Monitor progress, remove roadblocks, and drive accountability for delivery commitments
  • Stakeholder Management & Influence
  • Build solid partnerships across business, technology, marketing, operations, and supporting functions
  • Facilitate alignment among stakeholders with competing priorities and perspectives
  • Drive decision‑making by presenting options, trade‑offs, risks, and recommendations
  • Resolve conflicts and navigate ambiguity to maintain project momentum
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving
  • Anticipate risks, challenges, and execution gaps before they impact delivery
  • Develop mitigation strategies and proactively adjust plans to address changing business needs
  • Escalate critical issues appropriately while recommending actionable solutions
  • Executive Communication & Reporting
  • Prepare concise, executive‑ready communications, status reports, and presentations
  • Translate complex project activities into clear business outcomes, risks, and decisions
  • Provide leadership with transparency into progress, dependencies, and trade‑offs
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes, governance, and team effectiveness
  • Implement best practices that increase efficiency, predictability, and execution excellence
  • Contribute to the maturation of project management capabilities across the organization
  • Ability to define analytic requirements for products & initiatives. Partner with analytics team to refine dashboards based on reporting needs.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project or program management experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives
  • Experience driving projects from strategy through implementation and delivery
  • Proficiency with project planning, risk management, and executive reporting
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and dependencies simultaneously
  • Demonstrated solid communication, facilitation, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and digital automation tools to enhance project execution, streamline processes, and improve business outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification
  • Experience leading projects within Medicare, Medicaid, Dual Eligible, or other Government Programs environments
  • Experience leading initiatives within a large, matrixed organization
  • Experience supporting operational transformation, process improvement, or strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated solid business acumen with the ability to connect execution activities to organizational outcomes
