Job summary

Venteon is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a construction company in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidate will bring project engineering experience with structural steel and manage projects from initiation to completion.

The role requires leadership in safety, schedule, and budget, with responsibilities including contract management and relationships with owners and architects. Travel up to a year is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a complementary technical discipline or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience or 5+ years in construction industry serving either steel fabrication or steel erection sectors.
• Experience managing projects with multiple delivery methods ranging from $500K – $400M.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to perform domestic travel up to one year.
• Skilled in software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Oracle Primavera (Prolog or Viewpoint experience preferred), Tekla, and SDS2.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for overall safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction on assigned projects.
• Establish and oversee the safety plan and enforce a strong safety culture at assigned sites.
• Write and/or manage all contracts with customers, subcontractors, and design professionals.
• Manage the monthly payment application process.
• Supervise and mentor project job site staff.
• Initiate and maintain relationships with prime owner contacts and architects to facilitate existing and potential construction activities.
• Lead and conduct investigations as needed and implement the appropriate corrective actions.
