Job summary

Capital Credit Union in Wisconsin seeks a results-driven Project Manager to lead cross‑department initiatives and ensure project success from scope through delivery.

You will partner with CCU leadership, manage vendor relationships, and drive milestones while communicating effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in IT, project management, or related field.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365, Office Suite, Visio.
  • Experience with MS Project or Planview PPM Pro.
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.

Job description

Position Purpose

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve” by leading cross departmental projects, programs, and initiatives to fulfill the projects’ objectives and meet stakeholders’ expectations in accordance with Credit Union strategy, commitments, and goals. Accountabilities and responsibilities will span the project life cycle and across the ten knowledge areas including integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management. Position requires a good understanding of technology as well as a number of non-technical, soft skills including strong leadership, motivation, communication, organization, prioritization, adaptability, and problem-solving. Position collaborates closely with CCU leadership and the business units to define scope, overcome roadblocks, and achieve organizational success.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Reviews contracts, statements of work, and agreements to determine deliverables and impact to projects
  • Develops project plans with controls for scope, resources, cost, timelines, risk, quality issues, and communications
  • Outlines key deliverables and milestones and identifies the necessary work breakdown structure that must be completed to achieve each
  • Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors and serves as a point of contact for the teams to ensure synergy and seamless execution of projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • Delegates work to those best positioned to complete it and ensures that tasks are finished as scheduled.
  • Monitors the progress of a project and ensures that key milestones are reached.
  • Performs quality control on the project throughout to maintain the standards expected.
  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.
  • Identifies and manages potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Able to identify and present multiple effective options for how to progress with the project when roadblocks arise.
  • Manages changes to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Conducts project postmortems to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

Necessary Experience, Education and Certifications

  • Associate’s degree in management, business, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years previous experience in IT, project management, administration, or related field
  • Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Office Suite, and Visio
  • Working knowledge of program/project management software such as Microsoft Project, Planview PPM Pro, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in project management methodology and techniques, performance evaluation, and change management principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent preferred

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Office environment with moderate to high level of noise
  • Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, fax machine, and other office machines.
  • Prolonged sitting or standing, and ability to stay in one place or work in a confined area for extended periods.
  • Frequent mental and visual concentration.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for over 90 percent of work time.
  • Some work to be performed outside of normal business hours.
  • Moderate lifting of up to 20 pounds. Also, ability to transport objects weighing between 5 and 20 pounds for 5 to 10 percent of work time.
