Job summary

Hargrove is seeking a seasoned Project Manager/Engineer to efficiently manage engineering projects in Dallas, ensuring cost control, accurate man-hour estimates, and on-time delivery of objectives. The role requires strong PM skills, leadership, and the ability to coordinate with clients and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in engineering, PMP (preferred), and up to 10 years of relevant experience in project management, with proficiency in project controls and MS Office to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • Professional Engineering and/or PMP registration (highly preferred).
  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
  • Knowledge of Hargrove project execution procedures, company standards, and project controls tools.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and deliver on commitments.
  • Understanding of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations and communicate expectations clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage promotional projects, minimize cost, and estimate professional services man-hours while achieving objectives.
  • Manage commercial contracts on projects of various sizes and ensure timely payments; process CNs and review reports.
  • Maintain project control by tracking budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Utilize project tools for project control and support major technical and scheduling decisions.
  • Lead the team within Hargrove and with the client; coordinate resources and plan Workstreams.
  • Define scope, goals, and deliverables with stakeholders; align schedule and budget with client expectations.
  • Communicate scope/design changes promptly and promote change-management culture.
  • Promote relationships with the client and build long-term service-oriented partnerships.
  • Ensure timely project closeout and responsive client support throughout all stages.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently manage promotional projects, minimize cost, and accurately estimate professional services man‑hours while achieving objectives.
  • Manage commercial contracts on projects of various sizes, ensuring invoices are paid timely, processing Project Change Notices, reviewing the monthly Office Earnings Report, and keeping the project plan in Vision current.
  • Maintain project control by tracking performance budget, schedule commitments, and quality standards.
  • Utilize available project tools for project control.
  • Participate in development of major technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions.
  • Understand project scope, specifications, deliverables, and design criteria; align schedule and budget with Hargrove team and client expectations.
  • Work with client team to define scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly, championing the Project Change Notice process and promoting a positive change‑management culture.
  • Lead the effort in building a productive team within Hargrove and with the client, rewarding outstanding contributions.
  • Coordinate resource requirements and align expectations of all parties.
  • Plan and organize team work, communicate the plan to the team, leadership, and client.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with the team.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting, including weekly and monthly reports with a comprehensive action‑item list.
  • Review engineering documents, vendor submittals, fabrication drawings, and construction submittals for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project objectives.
  • Interview discipline leads to maintain up‑to‑date progress against man‑hour analysis.
  • Ensure overall financial health of each project, coordinating with discipline leads on deliverables within budget.
  • Assess performance of project team members and work with resource leadership to maintain a qualified, motivated team.
  • Ensure project documentation is reviewed and approved by the client.
  • Provide construction‑phase support, start‑up assistance, and responses to Requests for Information as needed.
  • Manage timeliness of client decision‑making and package approval.
  • Promote positive relations with the client, building long‑term relationships that continue to add services.
  • Complete project closeout as required by the client and proactively manage client needs at all stages.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited university (preferred).
  • Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration (highly preferred).
  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
  • Knowledge of Hargrove project execution procedures, company business standards, engineering standards, and project controls tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management and ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations and to communicate expectations clearly.
  • Coaching, mentoring skills, and experience in developing team members.
  • Excellent listening, communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
