Mach3 is seeking a highly organized and driven Project Manager to serve as the primary coordinator between customers and our manufacturing team. This role owns customer orders from purchase order receipt through final shipment, ensuring projects remain on schedule, materials are available, outside processing is completed on time, and customers receive accurate updates throughout the production process. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, machining, production scheduling, supply chain coordination, or project management and enjoys solving problems, managing priorities, and working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Own Customer Orders from Start to Finish

  • Develop and maintain project schedules that align production capacity, material availability, outside processing, inspection requirements, and customer delivery expectations.

  • Coordinate with Production, Programming, Purchasing, Quality, and Shipping to ensure milestones are met.

  • Monitor project timelines and proactively identify schedule risks.

Material & Supplier Coordination

  • Work closely with Purchasing to ensure materials, tooling, fixtures, and subcontracted services are ordered and delivered on time.

  • Track material availability and supplier commitments to support production schedules.

  • Coordinate outside processing such as heat treating, plating, coating, grinding, and other specialty services.

  • Escalate material shortages, supplier delays, or schedule concerns before they impact customer deliveries.

Production & Project Execution

  • Maintain visibility of all active jobs and monitor progress throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Collaborate regularly with shop leadership, machinists, programmers, and quality personnel.

  • Ensure production schedules remain current and accurately reflect project status.

  • Support issue resolution and recovery planning when schedules are at risk.

Customer Communication

  • Serve as a primary operational point of contact for assigned customers.

  • Provide timely project updates regarding schedules, production progress, and delivery commitments.

  • Coordinate customer visits, audits, inspections, and project review meetings.

  • Manage project changes, schedule modifications, and customer requests while maintaining clear documentation.

Risk & Cost Management

  • Track project performance against quoted scope and timelines.

  • Identify risks related to materials, capacity, quality, tooling, scheduling, or suppliers.

  • Support change order management and communicate impacts to internal teams and customers.

  • Assist in minimizing delays, expediting costs, and project overruns.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead project review meetings and drive action items to completion.

  • Coordinate efforts across Operations, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales.

  • Maintain organized project records including drawings, revisions, certifications, inspection documentation, and customer correspondence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in: Project Management, Manufacturing Operations, Production Planning or Scheduling, Supply Chain Coordination, Customer Account Management or CNC Machining or Precision Manufacturing

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

  • CNC machining or job shop manufacturing experience.

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, power generation, or heavy manufacturing customers.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of outside processing such as heat treat, plating, coating, grinding, or specialty inspection services.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

The Successful Candidate Is

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Comfortable walking the shop floor and working directly with manufacturing teams.
