Job summary

Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to hire a Machining Manager for a high-volume CNC machining and finishing operation. This hands-on leadership role combines technical machining work with people management, training, and process improvement to drive department performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong CNC machining background with hands-on setup and programming experience, and preferably Mastercam proficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of previous Machining Manager or senior leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on CNC setup and programming background required.
• Experience with Mastercam highly preferred.
• Experience programming and setting up CNC mills and lathes.
• Exposure to 3-axis and/or 5-axis machining environments.
• Ability to train and mentor machining personnel.
• Solid understanding of tooling, fixtures, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the machining and finishing departments.
• Program CNC equipment using Mastercam and support machining processes as needed.
• Oversee CNC setup, programming, troubleshooting, and production activities.
• Support both CNC mills and lathes in a production environment.
• Train, coach, and develop machinists, operators, and setup personnel.
• Drive quality, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve machining efficiency.
• Manage priorities, schedules, staffing, and workflow within the department.
• Ensure equipment, tooling, and machining processes meet production requirements.

Machining Manager | Precision CNC Manufacturing

We are partnering with a growing, stable manufacturing organization seeking a Machining Manager to lead a CNC machining and finishing operation within a high-volume production environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being involved in the technical side of machining while also managing people, processes, training, and department performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong CNC machining background, experience programming with Mastercam, and a proven track record leading machining teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the machining and finishing departments
• Program CNC equipment using Mastercam and support machining processes as needed
• Oversee CNC setup, programming, troubleshooting, and production activities
• Support both CNC mills and lathes in a production environment
• Train, coach, and develop machinists, operators, and setup personnel
• Drive quality, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Exposure to 3-axis and/or 5-axis machining environments
• Ability to train and mentor machining personnel
• Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, machining processes, blueprints, and quality standards
• Technical training, trade school, or equivalent machining experience preferred
