Job Description
We are seeking a Project Manager to be based in Corpus Christi, TX. The role supports projects in downstream petrochemical, refining, plastics, low carbon energy, and decarbonization markets.
Responsibilities and Skills
- Champion Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment.
- Lead quality areas for technical deliverables and service delivery.
- Develop technical proposals, evaluating scope, cost, and schedule as part of a project execution strategy.
- Manage and comply with complex master and professional service agreements and contracts in collaboration with Commercial and Legal for Engineering, Program, and/or Projects/EPC services.
- Meet key project indicators as part of execution.
- Own the change management process, ensuring changes to project objectives and scope are identified, clarified, documented, and communicated to the client.
- Be accountable for scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and procurement.
- Develop bi‑weekly, monthly, and additional management reports for client and executive leadership.
- Provide guidance on design processes and construction methods.
- Review and improve the company’s project management best practices.
- Manage relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Qualification / Training / Certification
- Prior direct experience managing petrochemical/chemical, refining, plastics, LNG, renewable energy, low carbon, carbon capture, decarbonization projects is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related technical degree from a four‑year college or university.
- Minimum 10 years direct work experience in a project management capacity.
- Minimum 15 years direct experience in the Oil & Gas sector, especially with an EPC firm; experience in small to mid EPC energy projects is beneficial.
- In‑depth understanding of the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience with EPC companies or clients in the engineering and construction industry.
- Self‑starter with an hands‑on approach and out‑of‑the‑box thinking in project execution strategy.
- Proficient in stage‑gate process.
- Ability to bring diverse teams together and lead them in a positive, high‑performance manner.
Communication
- Strong team player with exceptional communication and organizational skills; focal point for owner communication.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Behavior / Core Competencies
- Strong leadership skills that promote a collaborative culture and provide guidance to the team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Read and understand cost report trends, forecast, and collaborate with engineering to meet budgets.
- Analyze critical path schedules, forecast outcomes, and develop recovery plans as required.
