Job summary

Premier Steel Structures is seeking a Structural Steel Project Manager to drive projects from drawings through detailing, fabrication and field installation in Corona, California.

You will own multiple awarded projects, coordinating detailers, fabrication shop, field crews and vendors while tracking schedule, cost, change orders, billing and documentation to ensure successful completion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience preferred.
• Direct structural steel fabrication/erection experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of structural drawings, shop drawings, detailing, fabrication and erection sequencing.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, changes, budgets, schedules and customer communication.
• Strong commercial judgment: protect margin while delivering correctly.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple structural steel projects from post-award handoff through closeout.
• Oversee detailing and shop-drawing workflow, approvals, RFIs, submittals and fabrication releases.
• Develop and maintain project schedules connecting engineering/detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery and erection.
• Monitor budgets, job costs, cost-to-complete, billing and financial performance.
• Identify, price and manage change orders; document and follow up.
• Communicate with GC Project Managers, Superintendents and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with shop leadership, field crews, vendors and internal departments.
• Complete closeout, punch, warranties and final project documentation.

PSS Structural Steel Project Manager – Job Posting

Premier Steel Structures (PSS) is looking for an experienced Project Manager who understands how structural steel moves from drawings to detailing to fabrication to the field—and knows how to keep all of those pieces aligned.

This role owns multiple awarded structural steel projects from turnover through closeout. You’ll coordinate customers, detailers, the fabrication shop, field crews and vendors while staying on top of schedule, cost, change orders, billing and project documentation.

What You’ll Own

• Multiple structural steel projects from post-award handoff through closeout.
• Detailing and shop-drawing workflow, approvals, RFIs, submittals and fabrication releases.
• Project schedules connecting engineering/detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery and erection.
• Project budgets, job costs, cost-to-complete, billing and financial performance.
• Change-order identification, documentation, pricing, submission and follow-up.
• Customer communication with GC Project Managers, Superintendents and other stakeholders.
• Coordination with PSS shop leadership, field crews, vendors and internal departments.
• Closeout, punch, warranties and final project documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of construction project management experience preferred; direct structural steel fabrication/erection experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural drawings, shop drawings, detailing, fabrication and erection sequencing.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, changes, budgets, schedules and customer communication.
• Ability to manage several active projects without losing control of details or deadlines.
• Strong commercial judgment: you understand that a successful project must be built correctly AND protect company margin.
• Microsoft Office required; Bluebeam, Procore and steel-industry systems are a plus.
• Construction Management/Engineering degree preferred, but strong directly relevant steel experience matters more.

Compensation

• $100,000–$135,000 base salary, depending on directly relevant experience.
• Benefits and business travel/vehicle support consistent with PSS policy.
• Full-time, exempt position based in Corona, California, with regular Southern California jobsite travel.
