Job description

We are seeking an experienced Owner’s Representative / Project Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data centre developments.

Joining a rapidly expanding, ENR-ranked organisation, you will work directly on behalf of the owner, providing the leadership, oversight, and technical direction required to deliver complex data centre projects successfully. This is a key position for someone who enjoys operating at the centre of major projects and influencing decisions from early design through to operational handover.

The Opportunity

As the Owner’s Representative, you will serve as the owner’s eyes and ears throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating the various parties involved and ensuring the development remains aligned with the client’s technical, commercial, programme, and operational objectives.

You will work closely with design teams, general contractors, specialist subcontractors, commissioning teams, and equipment vendors, providing leadership across every stage of delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary client-side representative throughout the planning, design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Provide strategic oversight of project delivery, ensuring programme, cost, quality, and performance targets are achieved.
  • Lead coordination between architects, engineers, contractors, commissioning agents, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Review project schedules, budgets, procurement strategies, and project controls to identify potential issues before they impact delivery.
  • Monitor construction activities and ensure work is progressing in accordance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements.
  • Lead design and constructability reviews, with particular focus on MEP systems, resilience, maintainability, and operational performance.
  • Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation strategies alongside project stakeholders.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, and integrated systems activities through to successful turnover.
  • Provide clear project reporting, recommendations, and progress updates to senior leadership and ownership groups.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and overall project governance.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale construction or mission-critical projects, with data centre experience highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, critical infrastructure, commissioning, and complex construction environments.
  • Previous experience working on the owner/client side, within an Owner’s Representative capacity, or through a project management consultancy.
  • Ability to confidently manage and influence contractors, consultants, vendors, and senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience overseeing budgets, schedules, contracts, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams while operating effectively within high-pressure project environments.

Why Join?
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), allowing you to participate directly in the organisation’s long-term success.

  • Work alongside experienced professionals across the mission-critical construction sector.
  • Clear opportunities for progression as the organisation continues to expand.
