Job summary

MAHLE in Lockport, NY is seeking a Project Manager to lead automotive programs, drive engineering and supplier changes, optimize processes, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain, develop schedules with Microsoft Project, and manage risks and change management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years in Automotive Project/Program Management or related roles.
• Experience with engineering changes, supplier changes, and process improvements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to drive projects in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering changes, supplier changes, manufacturing improvements, and process-related projects across multiple automotive programs.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, risk assessments, and action plans using Microsoft Project and other PM tools.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure objectives are met.
• Serve as the primary customer interface, providing updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues.
• Support cost reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement while maintaining customer requirements.
• Manage program risks, timelines, deliverables, and change management in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Support new business awards and future product development programs.

Your Contribution

As a Project Manager, you will lead automotive programs and cross-functional initiatives focused on engineering changes, supplier transitions, manufacturing process improvements, cost optimization, and product transfers. You will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

• Lead and coordinate engineering changes, supplier changes, manufacturing improvements, and process-related projects across multiple automotive programs.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, risk assessments, and action plans using Microsoft Project and other program management tools.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of project objectives.
• Serve as the primary customer interface for program-related activities, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues effectively.
• Support cost reduction initiatives, process optimization efforts, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining customer and business requirements.
• Manage program risks, timelines, deliverables, and change management activities in a fast-paced automotive environment.
• Support new business awards and future product development programs as business opportunities expand..

Your Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Automotive Project Management, Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Product Development, or New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Experience managing engineering changes, supplier changes, process improvements, product transfers, plant transfers, or cost reduction initiatives.
• Proven ability to coordinate and influence cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Customers.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills with the ability to drive projects in a fast-paced environment.
