Job summary

Datum Engineers in Chicago is seeking a Project Manager to lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction, coordinating internal teams and collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.

You will organize project teams, perform structural analysis and design, mentor engineers, and contribute to company standards, while building client relationships and delivering safe, lasting structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred.
• Current Structural Engineer License in Illinois.

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction, coordinating internal teams and collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.

You’ll:

• Lead the execution of structural engineering projects, balancing technical excellence, schedule, and client expectations.
• Organize and direct project teams through analysis, design, detailing, documentation, and construction administration.
• Coordinate with clients and project partners to understand goals, solve problems, and deliver practical solutions.
• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types and structural systems.
• Mentor and oversee the work of engineers and designers, helping them grow professionally and technically.
• Contribute to the development of company standards, technical resources, and lessons learned.
• Build expertise in areas that interest you and become a trusted resource within the firm.

QualificationsDesired Education and/or Experience

• At a minimum, Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in the structural design of buildings
• Current Structural Engineer License (structural engineering) in Illinois
