Qualifications

Project Manager

THE ROLE

As a Project Manager at Voyage Advisory, you will take ownership of significant projects, often large in scope, with intricate dependencies, high risks, and substantial organizational impact. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating these complexities autonomously, ensuring smooth execution and successful outcomes. You'll be a central figure in our client engagements, working across our key verticals: utilities, financial services, manufacturing, government, and contact centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your day-to-day will involve a dynamic mix of strategic oversight, hands-on management, and continuous improvement:

• Project Leadership & Execution: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in close collaboration with Project Sponsors, senior management, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives. You'll have overarching responsibility for identifying, mitigating, and communicating issues and risks to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Strategic Problem Solving: Provide strategic planning, process development, and in-depth analysis and interpretation to resolve complex business problems. This includes making recommendations to enhance project management practices and implementing process improvements.
• Team & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work constructively with sponsors, business analysts, stakeholders, and customers to clearly define project scope and determine staffing requirements. You will promote teamwork and a collaborative work environment, effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Ensure team progress is transparent internally and clearly communicated externally.
• Client Communication & Expectation Management: Communicate effectively with customers, providing regular project status updates and securing valuable feedback. Manage expectations diligently, ensuring that all reports, estimates, and status updates are accurate, appropriately detailed, and that projects receive the correct level of priority.
• Process Improvement & Training: Implement project management process improvements and train other project managers on best practices. You will develop and establish objective measures, providing constructive input to performance metrics used within the project management lifecycle. This includes developing standards and procedures and training others to adapt to them.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and communicate project status, including reporting results to managers and users. You will oversee, develop, and maintain automated project plans, leveraging project management tools to monitor tasks and resource assignments. Stay abreast of current project management trends and industry improvements.
• Operational Excellence: Provide system functionality delivery on business capabilities, deliver compelling presentations, and offer production support when needed. You will also assist in the recruitment and selection of prospective team members, as well as their assimilation into the organization, fostering a culture of achievement within a results-oriented work environment. Manage issues and problems in a constructive and professional manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We're looking for seasoned professionals who bring a robust blend of experience and capabilities:

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years managing programs or projects, demonstrating advanced knowledge in Project Management/Leadership.
• Consulting Acumen: 3+ years at a recognized management consulting firm, or equivalent experience in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Education: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
• Certifications (preferred):
• Project Management Certificate (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar)
• Agile Certification (CSM, ACP, or similar)
• Methodologies: Proven experience with a variety of project methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Strategic Capabilities: Strong background in strategy implementation, business process improvement, strategic planning, IT business strategy, and data analysis.
• Digital Customer Experience (DCX): A solid background in Digital Customer Experience, encompassing areas like website optimization, CRM, and Voice of the Customer initiatives.
• Technical Familiarity: Familiarity with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Communication Mastery: A strong communications background, including superior oral and written communication skills, the ability to facilitate meetings, and deliver impactful presentations.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, relationship-building capabilities, and a keen client service focus.
• Adaptability: Flexibility and the ability to act quickly and decisively as circumstances change.
• Change Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing organizational change.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

This is a remote role with up to 25% travel for client engagements. Some Voyage engagements are onsite — if a specific client engagement requires onsite work, we will notify the candidate in accordance with the engagement's geographic requirements before placement.
