Job summary

HEI Civil in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead complex civil construction projects from initiation to closeout. You will manage cost, schedule, contracts, and field coordination with Superintendents, Subcontractors, and clients to deliver on time and within budget.

Candidates bring 5+ years in civil/site development, strong communication, proficiency in MS Project and HCSS, and a client-focused approach to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in civil and/or site development construction.
• Experience with underground utilities, earthwork, roadway reconstruction, and civil construction.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning tools; effective communication with stakeholders.
• Strong customer service and subcontractor management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost/change control, including change orders, negotiations, delay analysis, and tracking of submittals, RFIs, invoices, payments and lien releases.
• Create and maintain weekly schedules to ensure budget management and tracking.
• Coordinate with superintendents on schedules, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Perform take-offs and assist with bid development.
• Review costs daily and monitor quality with daily inspection evidence.
• Inform leadership of budget overruns and quality issues.
• Control EWOs; write and sign all EWOs before work starts.
• Print and sign daily project recaps; maintain comprehensive document control.
• Plan revisions, pricing and distribution; maintain as-built tables and ROW/permits documentation.
• Attend project meetings with all stakeholders and drive weekly updates.

We are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to join our team!

Responsibilities:

• Managing cost/change control, including change order review, negotiation, recommendations, delay analysis, and ensuring tracking of all key project documents (including submittals, RFI’s, change orders, invoices and payments, lien releases, etc. are being enforced).
• Create and maintain weekly schedules to ensure Budget Management and Tracking.
• Coordinating with Superintendents regarding schedules, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
• Perform take-offs and estimate bid development.
• Work with Heavy Jobs and Heavy Bid
• Review costs daily
• Review quality daily – quantities, pictures
• Inform General Superintendents and Field Operations Managers of significant budget busts and quality issues.
• Control Extra Work Orders
• Write and have signed all EWOs before work is started
• Print and have all Recaps signed daily
• Document Control
• Plan revisions / pricing / distribution GS, FS, As-built Table
• File electronic copies of all Project Documentation procured by FS listed above.
• Procure and file electronic copies of ROW / Street Cut / Fire Line / Domestic Service / Permits / etc.
• Address project issues
• Schedule related
• Cost related
• Quality related

• Review percent complete on phase codes with FS
• Invoice approval / Tracking
• Projections of each project on a weekly basis with FS/GS buy-in
• Conduct weekly key project update meetings or every morning recap meetings
• Control extra work orders
• Review quality of HJ input daily – pictures, quantities, notes
• Inform the General Superintendent and Field Operation Manager of significant budget busts or quality issues
• Attend and facilitate project-related meetings with all project stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 5+ years of experience with Civil and/or Site Development Construction.
• Experience with underground utilities, earthwork, roadway reconstruction, and civil construction required.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and HCSS.
• Superior customer service skills required.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and manage subcontractors.
