Job summary

Synechron, a global consulting firm, seeks a Project Manager to lead technology transformation initiatives in enterprise and financial services environments. You will oversee planning, execution, governance, budgeting, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management to drive strategic objectives.

The role requires strong expertise in Agile and Waterfall, hands-on tools experience (JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Azure DevOps, Rally), and the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Project Management, Program Management, or Delivery Management.
  • Strong experience managing large-scale application development, cloud migration, digital transformation, or enterprise technology projects.
  • Proven expertise in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, forecasting, resource management, and project governance.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Developers, QA Engineers, Architects, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and business executives.
  • Experience in project risk management, issue resolution, and dependency tracking.
  • Ability to create and maintain project plans, status reports, executive dashboards, and governance documentation.
  • Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Insurance domains.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes and software delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party engagements.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or SAFe certifications are preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery from project initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, milestones, resources, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  • Drive Agile ceremonies and project governance activities including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and steering committee meetings.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against established KPIs, schedules, and budgets.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks while proactively resolving project issues and dependencies.
  • Provide regular project status updates and executive-level reporting to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and clients to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Manage project financials including budget tracking, forecasting, resource utilization, and cost management.
  • Ensure adherence to project management standards, governance frameworks, and organizational best practices.
  • Facilitate communication across teams to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery processes and team productivity.
  • Manage change requests and scope adjustments while maintaining project objectives and timelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party partners to ensure alignment with project goals and deliverables.
  • Ensure quality delivery and customer satisfaction through effective planning, execution, and governance.
  • Support organizational strategic initiatives and contribute to PMO and delivery excellence objectives

As a Project Manager, your challenge is to lead and deliver complex technology transformation initiatives across enterprise and financial services environments. You will oversee project planning, execution, governance, stakeholder management, budgeting, and risk mitigation while ensuring successful delivery of strategic business objectives. Your expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, team leadership, and program governance will drive successful project outcomes, operational excellence, and client satisfaction.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100K - $110K/year & benefits (see below).
