Job description

Ready to take ownership of projects that have a real impact?

I am currently supporting a well-established industrial technology and manufacturing business in Buffalo that designs and builds equipment used in water and wastewater treatment applications.

They're looking to add a Project Manager to their Operations team - someone who can bring projects together across Engineering, Fabrication, Production, Purchasing and Operations.

This is a hands-on, operations-focused PM role. You won't be sitting behind a desk all day. You'll move between the office and production facility, working with the people building the equipment and making sure projects stay on schedule, materials arrive when needed and any issues are dealt with quickly.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll become a key link between the different teams involved in delivering a project. That means coordinating schedules, working with vendors and suppliers, expediting materials, reviewing costs and quotes, keeping project information organized and working with Engineering and Fabrication to keep production moving. You'll also have visibility into QA/QC, inspections, customer requirements and project documentation, giving you exposure to the full project lifecycle.

What We're Looking For

This role would suit someone who has developed their career in a mechanical, manufacturing or industrial environment and has moved into project management or operational coordination.

Your background might be in:

Industrial Equipment | Manufacturing | Fabrication | Mechanical | Piping | Production | Engineering | Water/Wastewater

You don't need to have followed a traditional PM career path. We're looking for someone who understands how things work on the production floor and can combine that practical knowledge with strong organization and communication.

You'll ideally be:
  • Experienced managing projects or operational workstreams
  • Mechanically minded and comfortable around industrial equipment
  • A strong communicator who can work across multiple departments
  • Organized, detail-oriented and good at keeping things moving
  • Comfortable splitting your time between the office and production floor
  • Personable, dependable and someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team

Sage 100 experience is a bonus, but not essential.

The Opportunity

You'll report directly to the VP of Operations and work alongside an experienced Operations team in a collaborative, highly cross-functional environment.

This is a chance to join a business where the work you manage ultimately contributes to real-world water and wastewater infrastructure, while giving you broad exposure across engineering, manufacturing and operations.

If you're a Project Manager who enjoys solving problems, working with people and seeing projects physically come together, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
