Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC seeks an experienced telecom construction project manager to lead 40–60 technicians and site teams, ensuring safety, quality control, and on‑time delivery of complex data center cabling projects.

You will manage budgets, forecast costs, monitor vendor performance, approve invoices, and coordinate across GMP, design‑build, and fixed‑price contracts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in telecom construction leadership or management.
• Experience with low voltage/fiber, cable management, and audits.
• Experience with cost forecasting and budgeting.
• Prepare and lead presentations and briefings.
• Safety enforcement and quality control.
• Experience monitoring vendor performance and approving invoices.

Responsibilities

• Lead 40–60 resources including technicians, admin, safety personnel, and construction managers.
• Monitor vendor performance, approve invoices, and track expenditures.
• Prepare and present project status updates and briefings.
• Enforce safety standards and ensure quality control across sites.
• Manage multiple contract types (GMP, design-build, fixed-price).

Job description

• 5 years of telecom construction industry experience in a management or leadership role.
• Knowledge of low voltage/fiber, cable management, and cable audits
• Cost forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare and lead presentations and briefings
• Safety enforcement, Quality Control and change management
• Monitor vendor performance, approve invoices, and track project expenditures.
• Assist in leading 40-60+ resources (technicians, project admin, safety personnel, and construction manager)
• Prior experience managing large data center or structured cabling construction projects highly preferred.
• Experience across multiple contract and delivery models (GMP, design, build, fixed price, etc.).
• Proficiency - MS Office, Primavera P6, SPI (Scheduling Performance Index), CPI (Cost Performance Index), Bluebeam, Procore, Textura
• Preferred Certifications:
• OSHA 30 (if they don't have it will need to be obtained within 60 days of starting)
