icon Mechanical is seeking undergraduate students completing their Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related degree to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. We are currently looking for undergraduate students to join our team as a Project Management Intern based out of our Granite City, IL office. Our ideal candidates for this role will be in their sophomore or junior year with either a Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related degree.

Primary responsibilities for icon’s Project Management Intern include:

• Assisting Project Managers with planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical/plumbing construction projects from start to finish.
• Supporting communication and collaboration with engineers, VDC (BIM) designers, schedulers, field foremen, customers, and subcontractors.
• Gaining hands‑on experience with project tasks, including ordering materials/equipment, issuing subcontracts, developing billings, managing RFIs/change orders, and preparing/reviewing submittals.
• Learning and applying knowledge of project contracts, general conditions, design requirements, and specifications.
• Assisting in preparation of fabrication shop work packages, including detail drawing review, material take‑off, material procurement, and man‑hour budgeting.
• Developing an understanding of the company’s brand, clients, goals, and overall Project Management processes.
• Completing designated internship projects by researching, proposing solutions, and presenting final recommendations.

Primary qualifications for icon’s Project Management Intern include:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree for Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar degree.
• Currently a sophomore or junior in college.
• Self‑motivated with excellent time and communication skills
• Possesses a strong personal commitment for long‑term and meaningful goals.
• Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi‑task with changing priorities.
• Demonstrates confidence in their working knowledge and is committed to researching/asking for the answers to find the right solutions for things they do not know.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Compensation: $21/hr
• Working Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs/week) with a flexible start and end date.
