Job description

The Opportunity

The Electrical Project Management Engineer is primarily responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of capital projects safely to meet budget, schedule, and technical objectives at the mill. The Project Engineer will also provide technical assistance to Manufacturing and Maintenance.

  • Leads cross‑functional teams in the development and implementation of a portfolio of capital projects.
  • Leads all aspects of conceptual & preliminary design and core team selection and scope development.
  • Leads all aspects of equipment and system selection, procurement, installation, checkout, and commissioning.
  • Develops allocation/appropriation requests, creates, and tracks budgets and schedules.
  • Develops management of change plan.
  • Participates in post‑startup tracking & evaluation of results and returns.
  • Selects, leads, and manages multiple consulting and contract resources.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Manages projects during power/recovery boiler annual outages.
  • Provides technical support to Maintenance Planners, Foremen, and other Engineers.
  • Follows mill’s safety protocols in addition to following state and federal safety laws and regulations.
What you need
  • 3+ years’ work experience in project management required.
  • Experience in pulp and paper industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (e.g. Honeywell, Allen Bradley), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s) and Power Distribution Systems.
  • Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership ability along with high ethical standards, with uncompromising focus on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Solid ability to organize and plan, working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to forecast spending on projects and manage projects within budget.
  • Ability to maintain a balance of work priorities and complete assignments within established timeframes.
  • Take on every assignment with a sense of urgency.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Ability to interact collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw valid conclusions supported by fact and data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
Compensation Offered
  • Salary Range: $97,300 – $155,500 DOE (Junior, Intermediate, Senior levels)
