City of Shreveport, LA seeks a capable project administrator to support contract negotiations, assist design/construction preparations, and coordinate with contractors and consultants. You will help prepare solicitations, track bids, and manage service delivery for department operations.
The role requires strong customer service, the ability to read and interpret plans, and basic computer skills. Expect travel within the locality; you may supervise clerical staff and ensure deadlines are met
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. High School Graduate, GED, or the equivalent.
2. A minimum of three (3) years of project administration or administrative duties with a municipality.
3. Customer service skills and the ability to gather and evaluate facts and a demeanor that generates confidence, respect and trust.
4. Possess a valid Louisiana Driver's license and maintain a healthy driving record.
5. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, or composite characteristics (whether similar or divergent from obvious standards) of construction phases, structural conditions, and architecture designs.
6. Basic computer skills such as reading and responding to email.
7. Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a stressful environment.
1. Tasks involve frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping; some unassisted lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
2. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination. May require the ability to differentiate between colors or shades of colors.
3. Requires the ability to talk and/or hear. (talking: expressing or exchanging information by means of spoken words; hearing perceiving nature of sounds by ear)
1. Tasks require infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
2. Working around and with machinery having moving parts, heavy dust and loose particles.
Working at heights and low areas. Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
Travel:
Extensive travel and driving will be required locally from location to location to accomplish job assignments and visit job sites.
