Job summary

Loudoun County's Planning and Zoning Department seeks a Legislative Land Use Planner to lead the review of legislative land development applications and coordinate with multiple departments. After training, you may telework two days per week.

Typical duties include analyzing projects, presenting recommendations at night meetings, and managing a caseload of medium-to-large developments. Bachelor's degree in planning or related field with five years of experience is required; certifications such

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Progressively responsible work experience at a level that required management of complex planning and land use projects is preferred.
• Preferred: AICP certification; CZA; CZO; PMP; Experience with ArcGIS, Bluebeam Revu and EnerGov.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposed development projects for compliance with county policies and ordinances.
• Coordinate the review process with other departments and external agencies.
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors at night meetings.
